[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Comedian Noh Woo-jin (40), who was caught driving under the influence, has been referred to the prosecution.
On the 10th, the Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station announced that they sent Noh to the prosecution without detention with a recommendation for indictment on charges of driving under the influence (under the Road Traffic Act).
According to the police, Noh Woo-jin is accused of driving under the influence on Olympic-daero in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, during nighttime hours on the 15th of last month.
At the time of the arrest, Noh Woo-jin's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license cancellation, and it was confirmed that there were no passengers in the vehicle.
Two days after being caught, on the 17th of last month, Noh Woo-jin posted an apology on his social network service (SNS) profile, expressing remorse by stating, "Without any excuse, this incident was clearly my wrongful action and should never have happened."
Noh Woo-jin gained popularity as the prot?g? of comedian Kim Byung-man (45) in the popular segment "Master" on KBS 2TV's "Gag Concert."
