[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] In Tokyo, Japan, the number of new COVID-19 cases has exceeded 300 for four consecutive days.


According to NHK on the 9th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that the number of newly confirmed cases on that day was 331. Among the new cases, those in their 20s and 30s accounted for 212, or 64%. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Tokyo is 15,867.


Although the daily new cases fell below 400 for the first time in three days, the number has remained above 300 for four consecutive days since the 6th. In the past week, there have been 2,412 new cases, averaging 345 cases per day.


The total number of COVID-19 cases across Japan was 414 on that day, with a cumulative total of 48,592 cases. The cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 was recorded at 1,056.
