COVID-19 Confirmed Case in Overseas Entrant Residing in Galhyeon 2-dong, Eunpyeong-gu

Confirmed Case No. 68 in Eunpyeong (Galhyeon 2-dong, Eunpyeong-gu) Transferred to Seoul Medical Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that one additional COVID-19 case was confirmed on the 9th.

Eunpyeong case number 68 (Galhyeon 2-dong) is an overseas entrant who was under self-quarantine. On the 8th, the individual visited the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center screening clinic for testing and was confirmed positive around 9:30 AM on the 9th. The patient has been transferred to Seoul Medical Center.

The confirmed patient's residence has been disinfected, and detailed movement routes will be disclosed on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website once the epidemiological investigation results are available.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, "We recognize the recent continuous occurrence of COVID-19 infections among overseas entrants as a very concerning situation. We will strengthen monitoring of overseas entrants and make every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through thorough quarantine measures."

She also added, "We ask residents to refrain from group activities, comply with quarantine guidelines, and help prevent further spread of COVID-19."
