[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] In Daegu, one new confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported on the 9th, following the previous day, as an imported case from overseas. Despite sporadic confirmed cases among overseas arrivals, no community transmission has been reported for 37 consecutive days.
According to Daegu City on the 9th, a foreigner in their 20s who entered from India to their residence in Dalseong-gun was tested at the Dongdaegu Station walk-through screening clinic and confirmed positive, and was admitted to Daegu Medical Center.
Accordingly, as of midnight on the day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased to 6,945. The number of recovered patients and deaths remained the same as the previous day at 6,847 (97.2%) and 187, respectively.
Currently, 10 confirmed patients are undergoing isolation treatment; they are receiving treatment dispersed across three hospitals nationwide (9 patients) and one residential treatment center (1 patient). In Daegu, no community transmission has occurred for 37 consecutive days since the 3rd of last month.
Meanwhile, in Gyeongbuk, no new confirmed cases were reported for the second consecutive day. The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongbuk stands at 1,368. The numbers of recovered patients and deaths remain unchanged from the previous day at 1,296 and 58, respectively.
