[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] Former girl group AOA member and actress Kwon Mina is reported to be receiving hospital treatment after attempting an extreme act.
On the afternoon of the 8th, Kwon Mina's agency, Woori Actors, stated in an interview with a media outlet, "Kwon Mina is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Her life is not in danger. There is no need to worry."
At around 10 p.m. that day, Kwon Mina attempted an extreme act and posted photos and messages on her social media (SNS) account.
She posted messages including, "I don't want to leave unfairly. Shin Jimin, Han Seong-ho, Kim Seol-hyun, live well. My mother, sister, and family will cry without saying a word and without guilt. Compensate for all the mental damages."
In response, Kwon Mina's agency immediately reported to the police and headed to her residence. Kwon Mina was then transferred to a hospital and is currently receiving treatment.
Earlier, last month, Kwon Mina revealed that member Jimin had bullied her for 11 years. In response, Jimin announced her retirement from the entertainment industry.
Furthermore, a month later, on the 6th, Kwon Mina opened up on her SNS, saying, "Many people have asked via DM (direct message) why I unfollowed the members, cursed, or asked for explanations. I will also explain that."
Kwon Mina mentioned other members besides Jimin, who she had previously accused of bullying her.
Referring to Seol-hyun as "Kim," Kwon Mina said, "I was a friend who really cared for Kim, but because she was close to Shin (Jimin), I couldn't approach her. I was worried and gave sincere advice because I truly cared. All the members knew I was struggling because of Shin, and when we talked at the end, Kim said she didn't care what happened to her and just hated the situation. From my perspective, she was also a bystander, and that hurt."
Kwon Mina then mentioned Chanmi, Yuna, and Hyejeong as "another Kim's younger sibling," "Seo unnie," and "Shin's friend," respectively. She said, "When another Kim's younger sibling came to apologize with Shin Jimin unnie, who didn't even offer a real apology, the first question asked was, 'What was your favorite memory?' It might be part of social life, but for someone like me who is not good at it, it seemed insincere."
She continued, "Seo unnie truly cared for me and thought about me, but no one stood up for me in front of Shin Jimin unnie," adding, "Shin's friend at least told unnie, 'Why can't you remember? I know everything,' and told me to accept the apology properly if I was going to receive one. But an apology should be sincere."
She added, "I wanted to erase memories of AOA little by little, so I cut everything off," and said, "I'm not asking for understanding or telling anyone not to send DMs. I just wanted to honestly express my position and thoughts."
Previously, Kwon Mina revealed that during her time in AOA, she was bullied by leader Jimin for 10 years and even attempted an extreme act due to the bullying. Since then, Jimin has left AOA and ceased all entertainment activities.
Kwon Mina debuted as an AOA member in 2012, left the team in May last year, and is currently active as an actress.
