According to the Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters on the 8th, at around 4:42 PM, a house was buried by a landslide in Gyodong-ri, Beonam-myeon, Jangsu-gun.
The fire authorities estimate that 2 to 3 people were inside the buried house and are conducting rescue operations with 9 heavy equipment machines including excavators and 36 personnel.
It is known that a middle-aged couple was residing in this house.
The fire authorities dispatched immediately after receiving the report and are removing soil and debris while searching, but the working conditions are unfavorable.
The fire authorities reported that the house was swept about 20 meters down by the landslide and the accident site is covered with mud.
Light raindrops are still falling in Jangsu, raising concerns about a secondary landslide.
A representative from the Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters said, "We will conduct search operations as much as the weather permits," adding, "No one has been rescued yet."
