One More COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Gwangju...Total 210 Cases

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seulgi Sung] Following the occurrence of a COVID-19 local infection case in Gwangju after 5 days, one more case has been confirmed.

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 8th, a teenage female, Ms. A, residing in Geumho Town, Hwajeong 2-dong, Seo-gu, was diagnosed with COVID-19 and classified as the 210th confirmed case.

Ms. A, the daughter of the 209th confirmed case, showed no particular symptoms but tested positive during a test conducted as she was classified as a close contact.

She is currently being transferred to and treated at Chosun University Hospital.

Gwangju City is focusing on identifying Ms. A’s movements and contacts through epidemiological investigations.

Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 177 people have been confirmed positive.

By infection route, 40 cases are related to Gwangju Sarang Church, 32 to Geumyang Officetel, 30 to Ilgok Central Church, 14 to Gwangju Exam Academy, 14 to the Badminton Club, 8 to Gwangneuksa Temple, 12 to contacts from other cities (Songpa case 60), 9 to contact with confirmed cases (Gwangju case 192), 12 imported cases, and 5 under investigation.

By age group, there are 5 under 10 years old, 8 teenagers, 7 in their 20s, 14 in their 30s, 24 in their 40s, 39 in their 50s, 46 in their 60s, 21 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
