Gwangju-Jeonnam 'Water Bomb' Democratic Party Joint Speech Canceled... Focus on Damage Recovery

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Due to heavy rainfall exceeding 400mm over two days starting from the 7th in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas, the Democratic Party of Korea canceled the joint speech meetings of the Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeonnam Provincial Party Executive Committees and the party leader and Supreme Council member candidates.

According to the Democratic Party's Gwangju City Party on the 8th, the party originally planned to hold a joint speech meeting at 10 a.m. at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju, with party leader candidates Lee Nak-yeon, Kim Boo-kyum, and Park Jumin, along with eight Supreme Council member candidates.

Following that, at 2 p.m., a joint speech meeting was scheduled to continue at the Namak Complex Community Center in Muan County, Jeonnam.

However, all events were canceled due to the concentrated damage caused by the heavy rainfall over the two days.

A representative of the Democratic Party's Gwangju City Party stated, “This is a measure taken due to the serious damage currently occurring in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas,” and added, “We will make every effort to restore the damage.”
