Jungnang-gu 'My Neighborhood Project' Non-Face-to-Face Resident Voting

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will conduct an online vote for 14 days starting from the 10th to select the 2021 resident participatory budget projects.

The target projects include a total of 50 projects: 23 projects aimed at resolving residents' inconveniences and 27 projects for urban environment improvement.

Voting can be done through the mobile application 'M Voting' or the resident participatory budget website, where residents can select 3 projects in the resident life sector and 5 projects in the urban construction sector.

In particular, this vote is conducted online due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and any resident of the district can participate.

Project selection will be determined based on the number of votes each project receives, and the final selected projects will be included in the 2021 budget and implemented next year.

Last year, projects such as the 'Women’s Safe Return Home Street Project,' which installed LED lighting and 112 emergency call signboards, 'The Happy Days,' which distributed rice cakes to elderly living alone celebrating their 70th and 80th birthdays, and the activation of the 'Worry-Eating Mailbox' on Mangusan Mountain were selected.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We will actively collect creative opinions proposed by residents and solve various inconveniences in the district,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of all residents in this Jungnang-gu resident participatory budget online vote.”
