[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 7th, heavy rain continued throughout the day in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, causing flooding damage in various places.

According to Gyeongbuk Province and others, due to the heavy rain in Gimcheon City on this day, traffic was completely blocked at Gyodong Gado Bridge under the Gyeongbu Line railway bridge, Pyeonghwa Gado Bridge under the Gyeongbuk Line railway bridge, and Jikji Bridge. Reports of flooding damage to vehicles, roads, houses, and factories also poured in from Yeongju, Seongju, Chilgok, and other areas. Both Gachang Dam and Gongsan Dam, which are dedicated to drinking water, have exceeded full capacity and are overflowing.

The Andong Branch of Korea Water Resources Corporation increased the water discharge from Imha Dam from 300 tons per second to 500 tons per second starting at 2 p.m. on this day. In the case of Andong Dam, the discharge was increased from 400 tons per second to 600 tons per second starting at 12:30 a.m. on this day. The discharge of Andong Dam's sluice gates, which began the previous day, is the first in 17 years since Typhoon Maemi in 2003. Imha Dam previously opened its sluice gates due to the impact of Typhoon Sanba in 2012.

In Daegu, 34 cases of flooding damage occurred, including in the basements of apartments in Taejeon-dong, Buk-gu. Control measures were implemented on hiking trails such as Palgongsan and Apsan Park, as well as on eight riverside parking lots. In the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, 100 to 200 mm of rain is expected by the 8th, with some areas receiving more than 300 mm.

The Daegu Meteorological Office stated, "The strong rain cloud band developed over the West Sea is gradually moving northward, and heavy and intense rain is expected mainly in the northern part of Gyeongbuk from night until the morning of the 8th," urging special caution.
