Previously, since February 4th, the government had banned entry of all foreigners who had visited Hubei Province within the previous 14 days and imposed restrictions to prevent holders of passports issued by Hubei Province from entering the country.
At that time, the government temporarily suspended the validity of existing visas issued by the Wuhan Consulate General, which has jurisdiction over Hubei Province, and also halted visa issuance operations at the Wuhan Consulate General.
Chief Coordinator Kim explained, "Considering the improvement in China's management of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the recent absence of confirmed cases in Hubei Province, and the fact that from the 5th of this month the Chinese government resumed visa issuance for our nationals."
