[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 7th that it conducted COVID-19 prevention activities on the 6th at the Seoul social housing "Social Housing Management Jamong House Duksung Women's University Branch."
Social housing is a public-private partnership rental housing supplied and operated by social economy entities, where citizens can live for up to 10 years at an affordable rent. The operating entity runs and supports various community programs using communal spaces to help residents proactively restore a sense of community.
During this event, COVID-19 prevention kits were distributed to residents living at Jamong House Duksung Women's University Branch, and disinfection was carried out in the shared indoor spaces and external areas of the housing.
Social housing managed by Social Housing Management continuously conducts monthly disinfection inside and outside the housing to prevent COVID-19. In addition, a self-quarantine room is operated in case a suspected patient arises.
Kim Seyong, President of SH Corporation, said, "We conducted disinfection inside and outside social housing not only to prevent the spread of COVID-19 but also to raise awareness about COVID-19 prevention, which may become somewhat lax." He added, "We will continue to strive to create a clean social housing free from COVID-19 worries through adherence to basic prevention rules and ongoing COVID-19 prevention campaigns."
