[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold the 'Songpa Dullegil 21km Public-Private Cooperation Photo Exhibition' at the Asia Underground Passage Rest Gallery for two weeks from August 1 to 14.

The Asia Underground Passage Rest Gallery is an underground passage space at Sports Complex Station where Subway Lines 2 and 9 intersect. The district is utilizing the underground passage as a gallery for cultural and artists who lost exhibition spaces due to COVID-19. This initiative aims to provide artists with opportunities to showcase their talents and expand cultural enjoyment for residents.

Until August 14, a photo exhibition titled 'A Pause in Daily Life, Meeting Songpa Dullegil' by invited artist Sang Byung-wook of the Korea Photographers Association is being held. Along a 50m section of the underground passage, a total of 23 works are displayed as if the Songpa Dullegil has been fully transferred there. It offers residents healing and relaxation from nature ahead of the peak summer heat.

The artist captured the theme of 'Songpa Dullegil 21km where people and nature breathe together,' photographing the greenery and vegetation of Songpa Dullegil from spring to summer, as well as residents walking the trail. The total four sections of Songpa Dullegil?Seongnaecheon-gil, Jangjicheon-gil, Tancheon-gil, and Hangang-gil?can be experienced through over 50 photographic works.

Songpa Dullegil is a major priority project of Songpa-gu’s 7th elected administration. It is a 21km circular ecological walking trail connecting four waterways flowing along the outskirts of Songpa: Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon, and the Han River. Except for part of the forest trail Jangjicheon-gil, it is Seoul’s only waterside walking path utilizing waterways.

The trail is divided into the Seongnaecheon course (6km) where urban landscapes and rural scenery coexist, the Jangjicheon course (4.4km) themed on forest green paths, the Tancheon course (7.4km) adjacent to an ecological landscape conservation area, and the Hangang course (3.2km) focused on rest and leisure. The courses feature unique spaces such as the Milky Way Path with night lighting, Metasequoia Path, and a rice farming experience site.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “The Songpa Dullegil photo exhibition was planned to naturally bring residents closer to nature and offer healing and relaxation amid busy daily lives. I hope many people exhausted by COVID-19 find a moment of mental rest through this photo exhibition.”
