[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Former AOA member and actress Kwon Mina revealed the reason why she unfollowed AOA members on Instagram.
On the 6th, Kwon Mina opened up on her Instagram post, saying, "Many people have asked me via DM (direct message) why I unfollowed the members, insulted me, or demanded an explanation. I will explain that as well."
Kwon Mina mentioned other members besides Jimin, who she previously accused of bullying her.
Referring to Seolhyun as "Kim," Kwon Mina said, "Kim was a friend I really cared about, but because she was close to Shin (Jimin), I couldn't approach her. I became worried and gave her sincere advice and genuinely cared about her. All the members knew how much I struggled because of Shin, and when we talked at the end, Kim said she didn't care what happened to her and just hated the situation. From my perspective, she was also a bystander, and that hurt me."
Kwon Mina then referred to Chanmi, Yuna, and Hyejeong as "another Kim's younger sibling," "Seo unnie," and "Shin's friend," respectively. She said, "When another Kim's younger sibling came with Shin Jimin to offer an apology that wasn't really an apology, she asked, 'What is your favorite memory?' That question felt inappropriate. It might be part of social life, but for someone like me who is not good at it, it seemed insincere."
She continued, "Seo unnie truly cared for me and thought about me, but no one stood up for me in front of Shin Jimin. Shin's friend at least told me, 'Why don't you remember? I know everything,' and told me to accept the apology properly if I was going to receive one. But an apology should be sincere."
She added, "I unfollowed everyone because I wanted to gradually erase my memories of AOA. I'm not asking for understanding or telling anyone not to send me DMs. I just wanted to honestly express my position and thoughts."
Previously, Kwon Mina revealed that she was bullied by Jimin, the leader of AOA during their active years, for 10 years and even attempted extreme measures due to the bullying. Since then, Jimin has left AOA and halted all entertainment activities.
Kwon Mina debuted as an AOA member in 2012, left the group last May, and is currently working as an actress.

I am not currently attempting suicide. This happened about a month ago? It was while I was in contact with an FNC official.
Also, many people have asked me via DM why I unfollowed the members, insulted me, or demanded an explanation. I will tell you that too because I don't think I did anything to deserve insults...
First, everyone knows about the Shin Jimin unnie incident, so I think you understand. As for my close friend Kim, even when Shin unnie badmouthed and gossiped about Kim, I was never shaken. In fact, Kim was originally a friend I really cared about, but because she was close to Shin, I couldn't approach her. I became worried and gave her sincere advice and genuinely cared about her. Of course, all the members knew how much I struggled because of Shin unnie, and when we talked at the end, Kim said she didn't care what happened to her and just hated the situation. From my perspective, she was also a bystander, and that hurt me.
Another Kim's younger sibling, when we all came together with Shin Jimin unnie to offer an apology that wasn't really an apology, asked, 'What is your favorite memory?' That friend is young. So whether I nagged or did something else, I left it alone because I knew she was young, but I really didn't understand what that question meant. In front of me, she badmouthed that unnie, but behind the scenes, she got along well with her. Of course, this might be part of social life, but for someone like me who is not good at it, it seemed insincere and I couldn't understand it.
And Seo unnie truly cared for me and thought about me, but no one stood up for me in front of Shin Jimin unnie. Shin's friend at least told me, 'Why don't you remember? I know everything,' and told me to accept the apology properly if I was going to receive one. But an apology should be sincere.
In my eyes, yes, many people use the word bystander a lot, and Kim's friends, especially that close friend, are definitely bystanders from my perspective. So I unfollowed them first, and later, I unfollowed everyone because I wanted to gradually erase my memories of AOA. I'm not asking for understanding or telling anyone not to send me DMs. I just wanted to honestly express my position and thoughts.
