Gyeongnam Office of Education Selects Geoje, Changnyeong, and Sancheong as 'Happy Education Districts'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 7th that it has selected three new Happy Education Zones for next year: Geoje City, Changnyeong County, and Sancheong County.

The Happy Education Zone is a project in which the provincial office of education and local governments cooperate to build a regional education community, establish a foundation for happy schools, and operate village schools, aiming for the region and schools to jointly nurture children.

The provincial office of education plans to support the newly designated Happy Education Zones with budget and personnel for two years starting next year, cooperating to nurture local children.

Kim Jeong-hee, Director of School Innovation, said, “The Happy Education Zone project is a region designated by an agreement between the provincial office of education and local governments to realize happy education where our children grow as agents of life in schools and villages. We will make further efforts to expand educational spaces and diversify educational methods to support our children’s happy lives.”
