[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Bomap announced on the 6th that it has established a Big Data Lab and recruited data analysis experts in preparation for the MyData business.
Dr. Seung-yoon Lee, recruited by Bomap, graduated from the Department of Mathematics at Sogang University and received his Ph.D. in Probability Theory from Ohio State University. He has served as a researcher in the Department of Statistics at Seoul National University and as a research professor at the Graduate School of Business at Korea University. He is a data analysis expert with knowledge and experience in the financial big data field, having overseen consulting and projects for leading financial institutions such as insurance, securities, and banking.
The Big Data Lab plans to enhance service completeness through data-driven research and experiments and focus on strengthening in-house data analysis capabilities in preparation for the MyData business.
They will develop an insurance policy analysis system applying text mining technology and an insurance product recommendation system using the latest machine learning techniques such as collaborative filtering, and will advance services by linking coverage analysis with the insurance policy analysis system.
Ryu Jun-woo, CEO of Bomap, said, "With the addition of Dr. Seung-yoon Lee, who has expertise and experience in financial big data, we expect Bomap's services to evolve to the next level," adding, "We will differentiate customer-centric insurance products and services tailored to customers' interests and characteristics based on data."
