Art Collaboration Captivating 2030... Kolon FnC Eulji Darak Sales Soar

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kolon Industries FnC Division (hereinafter Kolon FnC) is seeing positive effects from art collaborations at its multi-flagship store 'Eulji Darak.'

According to industry sources on the 6th, during the exhibition period of Eulji Darak's first art project, 'Seol Dongju Exhibition' (July 23?31), the store's average daily sales increased by 35% compared to the same period last month. A Kolon FnC official explained, "After the art collaboration exhibition, the influx of young customers in their 20s and 30s increased, leading to an overall rise in store sales."

Located in Euljiro, Seoul, Eulji Darak consists of a space selling products from five brands under Kolon FnC and the lifestyle brand Epigram's Almost Home Cafe. During the exhibition period, the company sold only Kolon Sports and Raekode products.

Kolon FnC cited the 'art collaboration' as the reason for the sales increase. This is the first time Eulji Darak has engaged in an art collaboration project. Illustrator Seol Dongju, who worked on the art project, is famous as a 'city trekking illustrator' who records and collects various urban scenes through pen drawings and photography.

This art collaboration focused on the uniqueness of the Euljiro area. It added fun by highlighting the specialness of spaces like 'alleyways' and 'attics,' which the millennial generation had not experienced, and cheerfully depicted the content of people living as neighbors within them. The front glass of the Eulji Darak building was decorated with an illustrated map of Euljiro, and the store space was filled with a total of 26 artworks.

A Kolon FnC official said, "Millennials who have never experienced spaces like 'alleyways' or 'attics' will be able to experience the analog space sensibility of the pre-1990s through this exhibition," adding, "Starting with this first exhibition, we plan to continue art collaborations with artists who align with our brand sensibility."
