Jaguar Launches 2020 XF Gasoline Model, a Sports Sedan

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 6th that it will launch the gasoline models of the premium sports sedan 2020 XF.

Following the release of three 2020 XF diesel engine models in April this year, Jaguar has expanded consumer choices by adding three gasoline engine models: ▲25t Portfolio ▲25t Checkered Flag Edition ▲25t AWD Checkered Flag Edition.

The XF reflects Jaguar's design philosophy, featuring a futuristic design with an emphasis on a sporty feel. The bold character lines symbolically showcase the XF's dynamism, while the clean design, aerodynamics, performance, and safety offer enhanced capabilities. Additionally, the adaptive LED headlights surrounded by Jaguar's iconic 'J' blade LED daytime running lights add a distinctive presence.

The XF's interior embodies British craftsmanship with premium materials and attention to detail. Notably, all trims of the 2020 XF are equipped with interior mood lighting that allows adjustment of color and brightness to create an atmosphere tailored to the driver's preference. The newly launched 2020 XF gasoline models include the 'Checkered Flag Edition,' which features custom Checkered Flag (a flag used in car racing) logo designs on both the interior and exterior.

All XF lineup engines combine powerful performance, responsiveness, quietness, and efficiency. The Ingenium gasoline engine, designed with lightweight all-aluminum construction and low-friction roller bearing technology, delivers excellent power efficiency. Furthermore, all engines are equipped with smart regenerative charging that recovers kinetic energy during braking to charge the battery, and intelligent stop-start technology, making driving economical both on highways and in urban environments.

The Ingenium 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine applied to the gasoline models produces a maximum output of 250 horsepower and a peak torque of 37.2 kg·m. The zero to 100 km/h acceleration time is 6.7 seconds. The Checkered Flag Edition, which emphasizes dynamic driving, is newly equipped with a sport suspension as a differentiated feature, allowing for a more dynamic driving experience.

The 2020 XF comes standard with advanced active safety systems that assist the driver for comfortable and safe driving. The 'Blind Spot Assist System' displays warnings on the corresponding door mirror when a vehicle is detected in the blind spot and assists driving by steering intervention if a collision risk is anticipated during lane changes. The 'Adaptive Cruise Control,' which fully stops the vehicle when the car ahead stops, is included in all trims to help drivers drive more safely. Pedestrian contact detection and hill start assist are also included in all vehicles, providing a stable and driver-centered driving environment.

The on-demand all-wheel-drive (AWD) system centers on 'Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD),' providing stable driving even in adverse weather and slippery road conditions. Developed in-house by Jaguar Land Rover, IDD monitors detailed vehicle driving conditions such as steering wheel angle and wheel speed, and when understeer or oversteer is detected, it optimally distributes torque to recover traction and maintain vehicle control.

The standard 'Torque Vectoring System' independently controls the brakes to maximize cornering performance and vehicle control during sharp turns. Additionally, Jaguar's 'All Surface Progress Control' enables stable driving on slippery surfaces.

Moreover, Apple CarPlay is standard, along with Bluetooth functionality including audio streaming, and InControl features compatible with Tmap navigation and Genie Music. The head-up display uses cutting-edge laser technology to project high-resolution images including driving speed, gear shifts, and navigation onto the front windshield. The Portfolio trim features the Meridian Surround Sound System, consisting of 17 speakers placed at the front, rear, and both sides, along with a dual-channel subwoofer, delivering clear and powerful sound with an output of 825W.

The prices of the 2020 XF gasoline models, reflecting the individual consumption tax reduction, are ▲25t Checkered Flag Edition at 73 million KRW ▲25t Portfolio trim at 73.4 million KRW ▲25t AWD Checkered Flag Edition at 76.7 million KRW.
