[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] A website that gathers information related to the 3rd New Towns, for which preliminary subscription is scheduled as early as the end of next year, will be established. A service that sends subscription schedules via text messages through contact registration will also be provided upon request.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will open and operate the '3rd New Towns Homepage' from the 6th to provide such services.
The 3rd New Towns are being promoted with principles such as ▲cities where commuting to downtown Seoul is possible within 30 minutes ▲child-friendly cities with 100% supply of national and public kindergartens ▲cities with jobs secured by securing more than twice the corporate land compared to existing residential sites ▲cities supplied at prices lower than surrounding market prices for non-homeowners and low-income residents.
All land sites for the 3rd New Towns have currently been designated, and district plans are being established. They are planned as ▲Namyangju Wangsuk with 66,000 households ▲Goyang Changneung with 38,000 households ▲Hanam Gyosan with 32,000 households ▲Bucheon Daejang with 20,000 households ▲Incheon Gyeyang with 17,000 households. However, the number of households is likely to increase somewhat due to the floor area ratio increase measure announced on the 4th. The government plans to start recruiting residents for the 3rd New Towns from the end of next year.
By accessing the 3rd New Towns homepage, users can view basic information such as the location of the new towns, number of housing units, major transportation measures, and bird's-eye views, as well as vivid interview videos with architects responsible for designing the 3rd New Towns.
A 'Subscription Schedule Notification Service' is also provided. When applicants enter personal information such as contact details and areas of interest, the subscription schedule for the registered areas of interest will be notified via text message 3 to 4 months in advance. Opinions such as the desired area and reasons for preference entered at this time will be reflected in future district plans.
The government plans to supply the sale prices of the 3rd New Towns as cheaply as possible compared to surrounding market prices. However, specific sale prices are expected to be announced at the start of the preliminary subscription.
