Significant Expansion of Benefits for Contest Winners
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver Webtoon announced on the 5th that it has formed a partnership with Google and SK Telecom to revitalize the 'Naver Webtoon Game Challenge' contest.
Through this partnership, Naver Webtoon plans to significantly expand the benefits for contest winners. The top 3 winners of the contest will receive ▲cash prizes (1st place 30 million KRW, 2nd place 20 million KRW, 3rd place 10 million KRW) ▲collaborations with Naver Webtoon artists and game broadcasts ▲support for Naver Cloud Platform server costs (1st place 40 million KRW, 2nd place 30 million KRW, 3rd place 20 million KRW), along with additional special awards from Google and SK Telecom.
The Google special award winners will be given opportunities such as banner placement at the top of the Google Play Store, game introductions on the 'New Recommended Games of the Week' collection page, and participation in the Google Play Points program. Additionally, all winners in the top 10 will be offered a free Google advertising optimization seminar. SK Telecom special award winners will receive services that allow them to utilize SK Telecom's marketing channels.
Meanwhile, the Naver Webtoon Game Challenge is a game contest established to foster and develop the domestic content industry, including webtoons and games, with the aim of mutual growth with small and medium-sized game companies. Applications are open until the 31st of this month. Based on completeness, internal evaluations will be conducted to announce the TOP 5 and TOP 3 sequentially. The final judging announcement and awards ceremony will take place on January 12 of next year.
