Global 'Eomuk Company' Born by Combining Manufacturing, Distribution, and Sales


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A giant fish cake company integrating manufacturing, distribution, and sales has been born, signaling a change in the fish cake market landscape.


Samjin Eomuk, a leading fish cake distribution company in Busan, merged with its parent company Samjin Food to launch the integrated corporation "Samjin Food" on the 4th.


Samjin Food stated that it had prepared the merger over a long period to reduce overlapping costs incurred while operating the two corporations and to strengthen transparency in management accounting.


The integrated Samjin Food announced a second leap forward as a global food company through responsible management centered on professional managers.


Professional manager CEO Hwang Chang-hwan and third-generation successor CEO Park Yong-jun divide their respective fields, holding overall authority for business decisions and new business initiatives.


Appointed in March, professional manager Hwang Chang-hwan oversees Samjin Food’s domestic business and plans to establish strategic plans and systematic operations based on his previous experience as a consultant at the Korea Management Association.


Third-generation successor Park Yong-jun, CEO of Samjin International, is in charge of overseas business for the integrated Samjin Food and is responsible for discovering new domestic and international business opportunities.


With the system change and the launch of the integrated corporation, Samjin Food is expected to expand its existing fish cake-centered business and pursue a new leap forward to become a global food company.


On the 4th, Samjin Eomuk and Samjin Food held a launch ceremony for the integrated corporation at the Busan Park Hyatt Hotel in Haeundae-gu, Busan, announcing the vision, business direction, and strategies of the integrated "Samjin Food."


At the event, Samjin Food CEO Hwang Chang-hwan said, “Samjin Food has set a new vision of ‘Creating a food culture based on marine protein,’” adding, “We will realize Samjin Food’s vision through strategic planning aligned with this.”


At the event, the vision of “Creating a meticulous food culture based on marine protein” was declared. New business directions and strategic tasks centered on the keywords ‘Trust,’ ‘Leader,’ and ‘Innovation’ were also announced.


The distribution corporation Samjin Eomuk is a local Busan company operating as Korea’s representative fish cake brand, running fish cake bakery stores and selling and distributing various products.


The manufacturing corporation Samjin Food produced all products released under the Samjin Eomuk brand and supplied them to the Samjin Eomuk distribution corporation.
