Gimje City Health Center Operates 'Health Camp' to Promote Smoking Cessation Culture Gimje City Hall


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] The Jeonbuk Gimje City Health Center is conducting a visiting health camp to prevent diseases caused by smoking.


On the 4th, the health center announced that as part of a smoking cessation research policy project to spread a smoke-free culture and strengthen environmental creation in the local community, it will implement an intensive health intervention program targeting residents of Juksan-myeon.


This health camp will be held over a total of six days, during which residents of eight villages in Juksan-myeon will visit on designated dates to receive health checks and examinations.


Additionally, in cooperation with the Jeonbuk Smoking Cessation Support Center, various health intervention programs will be operated to reduce the smoking rate in the community and increase accessibility for smokers attempting to quit.


At the "Visiting Health Camp," basic tests such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and four types of lipids, body composition analysis, carbon monoxide measurement, smoking cessation education, support for smoking cessation aids, one-on-one counseling, arteriosclerosis diagnosis, atrial fibrillation checks, stroke education, and surveys will be conducted.


After the examinations are completed, participants attempting to quit smoking can also review the final medical examination results by specialists aimed at changing attitudes and behaviors toward smoking.


A health center official stated, "We hope this camp will help create an environment for practicing smoking cessation, prevent diseases caused by smoking, and contribute to extending residents' healthy lifespan and improving their quality of life."
