Kim Boo-kyum to Bae Hyun-jin and Cho Soo-jin: "Don't Take the Role of Attacker When You're a First-Term... Embarrassment Belongs to Constituents"

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former lawmaker Kim Bu-gyeom, who challenged the Democratic Party's leadership, criticized Future United Party lawmakers Bae Hyun-jin and Jo Su-jin on the 3rd, saying, "When you are a first-term lawmaker, never recklessly take on the role of an attacker. Recklessly acting as an attacker or sniper will only hurt yourself, and the shame will fall on your constituents."

In a post on his Facebook on the same day, Kim mentioned the two lawmakers, saying, "When doing politics, you inevitably attack the opposing party. At such times, it is customary among lawmakers to just let it pass," and made these remarks.

He said, "Both of you come from media backgrounds. You work with words and writing," adding, "The main point of my previous post was that the word 'dictatorship' should not be used carelessly. But it is truly unfortunate that the party that uses it recklessly and the lawmakers who misinterpret the meaning of the phrase 'to glare' in my post."

Earlier, on the 31st of last month, Kim criticized the United Party's description of the Democratic Party as a 'dictatorship,' saying, "No matter how upset you are, you should not use the word dictatorship carelessly. I know well because I have fought against dictatorship."

He continued, "Who is glaring at whom and calling them a dictator?" and criticized, "Haven't they already been judged in the 21st general election for only obstructing and opposing unconditionally?"

In response, Bae Hyun-jin, the United Party's floor spokesperson, pointed out on the 1st, "How could someone who even served as a minister casually utter such a degrading remark as 'to glare'?"

United Party lawmaker Jo Su-jin also raised her voice, saying, "Pretending to be a clumsy Moon faction only loses even the few supporters you have," and "Not allowing dictatorship to be called dictatorship is dictatorship."

Regarding this, former lawmaker Kim said, "It is truly unfortunate that some lawmakers misinterpret the meaning of the phrase 'to glare' in my post," and criticized, "I don't understand how Representative Bae, who is from a broadcasting background, thinks that using pure Korean words lowers one's dignity."

He also addressed Representative Jo, saying, "I expressed the establishment of dictatorship as whether 'basic rights are restricted' to make it easier to understand," and added, "To put it more directly, it means crimes that annihilate human rights, such as imprisoning, beating, torturing the opposition, and fabricating interrogation records. That is dictatorship."
