[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] On Tuesday the 4th, the whole country is expected to be mostly cloudy with very heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, mainly in the central region.
In Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Gangwon Yeongseo, rain is forecasted to pour at a rate of 50 to 100 mm per hour (with some areas exceeding 120 mm) during the morning. The rain will ease somewhat in the afternoon but is expected to intensify again from 6 p.m.
In the southern inland areas and Jeju Island, scattered showers of 5 to 40 mm are expected in some places. This monsoon rain is expected to continue until the 5th.
Fine dust levels will be between 'Good' and 'Moderate' across all regions. Morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs between 27 and 34 degrees Celsius.
In the southern part of Chungcheong Province, southern regions, and Jeju Island, where heatwave warnings have been issued, many places will see daytime temperatures rise above 33 degrees Celsius until the 5th, and some areas will experience tropical nights with nighttime lows remaining above 25 degrees Celsius.
Until morning, some southern regions will have dense fog, and most maritime areas will experience thick fog. A preliminary storm warning has been issued for the southern offshore waters of Jeju Island at dawn. Wave heights will be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.
