[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Lotte Arai Resort announced on the 3rd that it received the ‘Top Class Comfort’ rating in the hotel category of the Michelin Guide 2020 Niigata special edition.
The Michelin Guide 2020 Niigata special edition, published for the first time this year, evaluated restaurants, hotels, and ryokans in Niigata Prefecture, known as the setting of the novel "Snow Country" and famous for its snow, rice, and sake, called the "Land of Three Whites (Sanpaku)." Niigata Prefecture, which has the largest number of breweries in Japan, offers various seasonal food and attractions such as the sake festival where you can taste sake from about 90 breweries in one place, and the Takada Park Cherry Blossom Festival, one of Japan’s three major night cherry blossom festivals.
The Michelin Guide evaluates hotels based on facilities and services into five grades: Luxury, Top Class Comfort, Very Comfort, Comfort, and Quite Comfort. In the Michelin Guide 2020 Niigata, three hotels were selected as Top Class Comfort, six as Very Comfort, and two as Comfort. Among them, Lotte Arai Resort was recognized as the highest-rated hotel in Niigata Prefecture.
Located in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, Lotte Arai Resort consists of a total of 257 rooms and facilities including restaurants, hot springs, swimming pools, and banquet halls. It also offers various seasonal activities such as a ski resort loved by skiers worldwide for its optimal snowfall and powder snow, and a zip tour boasting Asia’s longest length (1501m).
To commemorate this selection, Lotte Arai Resort has launched a ‘Michelin Guide’ package available for stays until October 31. The package offers benefits such as room upgrades and a 50% discount on the Adventure Pass, which allows unlimited use for one day of lunch, swimming pool, and adventure activities (tubing, zipline, tree adventure).
