[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Sanna Marin (34), the youngest Prime Minister of Finland, held a small wedding ceremony on the 1st (local time) attended by about 40 guests, Bloomberg reported on the 2nd (local time).

The Finnish government stated in a press release that Prime Minister Marin held the wedding ceremony the previous day at the Helsinki residence with about 40 guests including family and friends, marrying Markus R?ikk?nen, whom she had been dating for 16 years.

Prime Minister Marin said, "I am happy and grateful to be able to share my life with the man I love," adding, "We spent our youth together, grew together, and became parents to a lovely daughter."

The couple first met when they were 18 and have a two-year-old daughter.

Marin served as Minister of Transport before being elected as Finland's youngest Prime Minister in December last year. She is the third female Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, among Nordic countries, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen postponed her wedding twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally wore a wedding dress on the 15th.
