On the 29th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that the case in which Lee Ji-young, an Etoos Education instructor, sued Hyun for defamation was sent to the prosecution on the 17th with a non-prosecution opinion. A police official explained the reason for sending the case with a non-prosecution opinion, saying, "As a result of the investigation, it is difficult to see the crime as established without doubt."

Lee claimed that in 2018, Hyun made derogatory remarks about her in group chat rooms with students and in the lecture room earlier this year, and she filed a complaint against Hyun in March.
