Hugel Announces Entry into 'Indonesia'... Approval Granted for Sales of 4 Types of HA Fillers

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hugel, a global total medical aesthetic specialist company, announced on the 29th that it has obtained sales approval in Indonesia for four products in its HA filler line, ‘The Chaeum Style’.

Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim country, with a complicated approval process, making it a market with high entry barriers for foreign companies and products. Nevertheless, as the fourth most populous country globally and a foothold for expansion into neighboring countries, it is recognized for its high growth potential and is attracting attention from domestic companies.

The Chaeum Style, which obtained sales approval in Indonesia this time, is a premium product line newly launched by Hugel in March last year. Applying Hugel’s differentiated new technology to the know-how unique to the ‘The Chaeum’ brand, which has proven itself through sales of over 8 million syringes, it boasts high elasticity and a more natural volume effect. In particular, the use of domestic raw materials and all production processes carried out in Korea ensured high safety, enabling the acquisition of the stringent Indonesian approval.

Hugel plans to increase its local market share through active marketing activities targeting key doctors and heavy users in the region. Indonesia is a market with high interest and response to ‘K-Beauty,’ and there is also strong demand for training related to Korean beauty procedures. Considering these market characteristics, Hugel is preparing an academic forum in the form of a ‘Webinar (Web+Seminar)’ this year. In addition, through systematic and aggressive marketing activities, the company aims to achieve a market share of over 15% within three years.

A Hugel official said, “Indonesia is a country with high growth potential, and we plan to focus on expanding brand awareness and trust in the local market,” adding, “In particular, since the process of obtaining approval for our botulinum toxin product in addition to the HA filler is currently underway, we expect rapid market share expansion through the high synergy effect of the two products in the local market in the future.”
