[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it held a project briefing session for landowners and stakeholders at the county office’s large conference room to actively promote the Shin Soyang District urban development project.
Amid the ongoing trend of population decline, the county signed an investment attraction agreement MOU with Uram Comprehensive Construction Co., Ltd. for urban development.
At the project briefing session, attended by landowners and stakeholders, explanations were given on the urban development project and development plans, the formation and operation of the promotion committee, and the collection of consent forms, which are essential requirements for implementing the urban development project. Serious discussions were held throughout the project, along with explanations about future project promotion.
It is expected that the ‘Shin Soyang District Urban Development Project’ will greatly contribute to population growth and economic revitalization.
A county official stated, “The economic and administrative effects on the local community from the Shin Soyang District urban development project include an expected population attraction effect of 3,000 people, a tax revenue increase effect of 12 billion KRW, employment creation effect of about 60,000 people, local commercial district revitalization effect of 2.5 billion KRW per year, and other economic ripple effects of 3.5 billion KRW per year. The direct and indirect effects from the urban development project are very significant.”
At the briefing session, Moon Jun-hee, the mayor of Hapcheon-gun, said, “Since this project, which was connected to investment attraction during a very difficult economic and social period, is important, we will make sure to succeed in the urban development project through active administrative support, making our county a better place to live and simultaneously solving population and local economic revitalization issues.”
Residents of Shin Soyang Village also showed a cooperative attitude, stating that since this urban development project is a significant project not only for the development of Shin Soyang Village but also for the overall development of our county, they will actively cooperate to lead the project to success.
