Jeonju City Public Deliberation Committee, Scenario Workshop Outline Solidified

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] As the Citizens' Deliberation Committee related to the former Daehan Textile site in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do finalized the number of participants and selection methods, the outline of the scenario workshop to reflect citizens' opinions has emerged.

On the 27th, the Citizens' Deliberation Committee held its 7th meeting and confirmed the number of participants for the scenario workshop to gather citizens' opinions at 32, and specified the selection method to compose this group.

The committee members agreed that the scenario workshop would consist of a total of 32 members, with 8 members each in four groups: ▲Policy & Urban Management ▲Urban Planning ▲Local Economy ▲Citizens.

Additionally, to ensure expertise and fairness, participants will be recruited at 2 to 3 times the number through recommendations from various institutions and organizations or public applications from citizens, and then 32 participants will be selected by lottery.

The scenario workshop will be conducted over about three days, using a deliberation method that establishes scenarios on issues and solutions for specific matters, discusses pros and cons, and gathers suitable alternatives to predict the future.

The next meeting will be held on the 6th of next month by unanimous agreement of all members of the Citizens' Deliberation Committee, and through additional discussions on the agenda and participant composition of the scenario workshop, it will move closer to promoting the workshop.

Furthermore, the committee decided to accelerate the deliberation process by selecting a service company next month to carry out the scenario workshop and public opinion survey.

Chairman Lee Yangjae of the Citizens' Deliberation Committee stated, “Through this meeting, we have outlined the composition of participants for the scenario workshop, which will be the first step in gathering citizens' opinions,” and added, “We plan to promptly select the service company for the deliberation, and further specify the materials to be provided to participants and the procedures for conducting the scenario workshop.”
