Expecting Welfare Synergy Effects through Matching Cooperation between Dong Community Center and Welfare Center
Agreement on Community Network Formation Project between Bukahyeon-dong Resident Center and Seodaemun Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 27th that on the 23rd, Hong Eun 2-dong Community Service Center and Hong Eun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and on the 24th, Buk Ahyeon-dong Community Service Center and Seodaemun Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center held a signing ceremony for the 'Resident Network Formation Project to Prevent Solitary Deaths.'
This project involves forming voluntary resident groups called ‘Iut Salpimi’ (Neighbor Caregivers) in the village to watch over lonely neighbors, and it is being promoted in Hong Eun 2-dong and Buk Ahyeon-dong, which were selected through a Seoul city public contest.
According to the agreement, regular meetings of working-level staff from both organizations will be held to prevent social isolation and solitary deaths.
Additionally, ▲strengthening the capabilities of Iut Salpimi through education and workshops ▲sharing information on isolated households and linking Iut Salpimi activities ▲providing active services to discovered isolated households will be carried out.
Previously, in 2015, Seodaemun-gu signed agreements with 15 institutions including the police station, fire station, city gas corporation, and waterworks office to promote the ‘Annyeong Salpimi Project,’ which checks on residents’ well-being and prevents solitary deaths.
To this end, a system was also established where workers from participating institutions can report at-risk households in welfare blind spots discovered during public service work through the KakaoTalk channel called ‘Cheonsatok’ (Angel Talk).
Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “We expect that adding this matching cooperation project between the community service centers and welfare centers to the existing ‘Annyeong Salpimi Project’ will further enhance the welfare synergy effect.”
