Changwon National University LINC+ Project Group Holds Regional Energy Industry Forum


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Changwon National University LINC+ Project Group announced on the 27th that it held a 'Regional Energy Industry Forum' at the Convention Hall of Changwon Convention Center.


This event was hosted by Changwon National University LINC+ Project Group in collaboration with Gyeongnam National University LINC+ Project Group under the theme 'Survival Strategies for Regional Industries According to the Government's Energy Transition Policy.'


On this day, attendees included Changwon National University President Lee Ho-young, Gyeongnam National University President Park Jae-gyu, Changwon Vice Mayor Cho Young-jin, Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Han Cheol-soo, Changwon Industry Promotion Agency Director Baek Jeong-han, Bank of Korea Gyeongnam Headquarters Director Noh Chung-sik, Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center Director Lee Dong-hyung, as well as representatives from related organizations, company officials, professors, and experts in related fields.


The 'Regional Energy Industry Forum' was conducted as a comprehensive discussion focusing on survival strategies for regional industries in response to the government's energy transition policy, with participation from industry, academia, research, and government stakeholders. The forum included thematic presentations and discussions on the development direction of the regional energy industry and support measures.


The forum featured presentations on topics such as ▲ Three years of changes in government energy policy: crisis and opportunity for Changwon's economy ▲ Management status and difficulties of the regional nuclear power industry ▲ The necessity of resuming Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 from the perspective of regional energy manufacturing ▲ Directions for establishing a regional energy industry centered on renewable energy, followed by a comprehensive discussion on 'Development Directions and Support Measures for the Regional Energy Industry.'


Yoon Hyun-kyu, head of the Changwon National University LINC+ Project Group, explained, "This forum is expected to have served as a platform where local energy-related companies and economic and energy experts gathered in one place to discuss serious regional economic issues and seek countermeasures."
