Ministry of Economy and Finance Publishes '2019 Public Institutions Innovation, Collaboration, and Citizen Participation Best Practices Collection'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 27th that it has jointly published the '2019 Public Institution Innovation, Collaboration, and Citizen Participation Best Practices Collection' with the Korea Institute of Public Finance.


This collection includes excellent projects from 25 public institutions that contributed to improving work efficiency and the quality of public services through innovation, collaboration, and citizen participation throughout 2019.


In the innovation category, 10 outstanding projects were selected, including Korea Southern Power's 'Blockchain-based Renewable Energy Supply Certificate Service' and Korea Radio Promotion Association's 'Innovation in Small Vessel Distress Signal Transmission System.'


In the collaboration category, 10 excellent projects were selected, such as Korea Electric Power Corporation's 'Greenhouse Gas Reduction through the Distribution of Geothermal and Air-source Heating and Cooling Facilities to Farms' and Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation's 'Ensuring Public Underground Safety with the New Mine Reclamation Technology MIRECO EYE.'


Finally, in the citizen participation category, 5 outstanding projects were selected, including Korea Environment Corporation's 'Improvement of Sewer Odor through Odor Map Creation via Sewer Odor Monitoring' and Korea National Park Service's 'Mountain Hiking Lunchbox Service Created Together with Local Communities.'


The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korea Institute of Public Finance plan to continue discovering cases to promote innovation and collaboration among public institutions and to improve the quality of public services through citizen participation.
