[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Singer Lee Hi clarified the rumors of 'YG neglect' amid her departure from YG Entertainment and transfer to the new agency AOMG.
Lee Hi appeared on the YouTube channel 'Wonder K Original' on the 23rd.
In the video, she addressed suspicions that she was the biggest victim at YG Entertainment, saying, "I received such solid promotion that I wondered if a debuting singer could get this much investment and promotion."
She added, "There are so many singers, and if each one is to be managed individually, only about five singers can debut in a year. I would appreciate it if you could understand it that way."
She continued, "I don't consider myself a victim. I hope people don't pity me," and explained, "At some point, people looked at me and asked, 'When is your album coming out?' and pitied me. I'm happy, so I don't know why they do that."
Regarding her reason for signing an exclusive contract with AOMG, she said, "After my contract with YG expired, the first person to contact me was CEO Pumpkin. When I had a meeting with Code Kunst oppa, he praised it as a very good company," and added, "After that, I met with many companies and my heart was shaken a lot."
She continued, "Then CEO Pumpkin said, 'Hi, why are you like this? Didn't you promise me?' I can't forget that earnest voice," and said, "I thought it was best to go to a company that I needed. So I signed with AOMG a week later."
Earlier, Lee Hi released the digital single 'Alone' on the 23rd.
This is her first new song in about 1 year and 2 months since the EP album '24℃' released in May last year.
On the same day, she also announced her exclusive contract with the hip-hop label AOMG led by Park Jae-beom.
Currently, AOMG includes artists such as Swings, Loco, Woo Won-jae, and Gray.
