This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu to 95.
A 51-year-old man residing in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, visited a unit belonging to the 8th Army Division located in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, where a cluster infection occurred, on the 16th. After hearing that a soldier from that unit was confirmed positive the previous day, he underwent a specimen test at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center and tested positive on the same day.
Additionally, a 48-year-old woman, a family member of the man and an employee at the DGB Daegu Bank Seoul Branch in Jung-gu, tested positive after experiencing symptoms such as fever and persistent cough and undergoing a specimen test at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center.
Gangnam-gu conducted disinfection of facilities visited based on the residences and movement paths of the confirmed cases and is currently carrying out a detailed epidemiological investigation to identify the exact infection routes and additional contacts.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that one resident of Songpa-gu who worked as a meal distribution worker at Cheongdam Middle School in Gangnam-gu tested positive. All students attending classes were sent home, and from the 23rd, attendance for all grades will be suspended.
Furthermore, specimen tests were conducted on seven individuals classified as close contacts, including cooks, who were placed under self-quarantine.
