Gift of Happiness Sharing Boxes to Low-Income Children and Adolescents in Yeongdeungpo-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il), with sponsorship from Omni System, will support 60 Happiness Sharing Boxes prepared by the NongHyup Seoul Regional Headquarters to low-income children and adolescent families residing in the area.

On the morning of the 21st, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il met with Omni System CEO Park Hye-rin, NongHyup Seoul Regional Headquarters Director Lee Dae-yeop, and corporate executives to hold a delivery ceremony for the Happiness Sharing Boxes worth approximately 5 million KRW, expressing gratitude for the sponsorship.

The Happiness Sharing Boxes are filled with NongHyup-produced Korean agricultural and livestock products such as milk, pork cutlets, grilled short rib patties, and include a hand fan to help overcome the hot summer.

The Happiness Sharing Boxes will be delivered to economically disadvantaged children and adolescent families through the Yeongdeungpo-gu Social Welfare Council and 18 local community child centers.

Omni System and the NongHyup Central Association Seoul Regional Headquarters have been leading social contribution activities for vulnerable groups through continuous sharing and donations.

CEO Park Hye-rin said, “We decided to sponsor to supplement the nutrition of growing children and adolescents whose health has declined due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to revitalize low-income households.”

Director Lee Dae-yeop expressed his thoughts, saying, “I hope this becomes an opportunity to deliver dreams and hope to growing adolescents.”

The district has been working to resolve care gaps by opening the Island 2 and 3 centers in April to support the independence and stable living of children and adolescent families, and has been implementing various welfare projects for vulnerable children such as providing health and hygiene products for female adolescents and comprehensive food gift sets for children at risk of food insecurity.

Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il said, “The Happiness Sharing Boxes will be a warm comfort to low-income children and adolescent families going through difficult times due to COVID-19,” and added, “We thank Omni System and NongHyup Seoul Regional Headquarters for their generous support, and we will create an open Yeongdeungpo where no child or adolescent is left behind.”
