Yangcheon-gu Village Community Integrated Public Contest

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] A village where you can raise children with peace of mind, with work and entertainment available. A place where neighbors exchange warm greetings and can share their hearts anytime?a foundation for my life.

We feel a sense of village community as 'We are one' while engaging in mutual aid that fosters communication and harmony with our neighbors.

Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Kim Sooyoung) announced that the integrated announcement for the second half of 2020 village community activation will be held from July 20 to August 5, 6 p.m.

The aim is to recover the distance that has grown between residents due to COVID-19 through encouragement and cooperation, and to support community activities so that village issues can be resolved independently.

The target projects include four areas: ▲Jejari Village Sports Day ▲Village Outing ▲Sisikolkoll Village Exploration Team ▲Golmok Agora, selecting about 35 resident groups, and providing subsidies such as project operation funds ranging from 600,000 to 2,000,000 KRW per group.

Proposals can be submitted with various activities such as 'Shinbakhan Alley Sharing Economy' practiced by borrowing and sharing with neighbors, 'Our Neighborhood Art Festival,' 'Alley Exhibition,' 'Our Alley Genuine Products Show,' 'Interview with Our Neighborhood Regular Store Owners,' and 'Village Sports Day.' After expert review, the selection results will be announced on August 13, and agreements and subsidy disbursements will proceed from August 14.

This public contest project is open to resident groups of three or more people residing or working (including schools) in the same neighborhood, and applications can be submitted via email (ycmajacenter@naver.com).

Kim Sooyoung, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “This contest project will be the foundation for growing into a village where living is enjoyable by experiencing social friendship among neighbors and achieving resident autonomy in daily life decided directly by residents. I hope it will be a precious opportunity to experience a harmonious stage where your and my small voices blend into a beautiful harmony.”
