According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 18th, a woman in her 90s living in a house in Wolsan-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 and classified as case number 184.
She is the mother-in-law of the Songpa 60 confirmed case who visited Gwangju and was confirmed to have stayed at home without going out since the 16th until this day.
Case 185 is a man in his 60s living in Yangnim 2nd Humansea, Yangnim-dong, Nam-gu, and is a relative of Songpa 60. He showed symptoms such as coughing since the 15th. It was confirmed that he visited Jangseong, Jeollanam-do, between the 13th and 17th.
Among the 15 people identified to have had contact such as meals with Songpa 60 so far, nine have been confirmed positive, and six tested negative.
Previously, seven people including a woman in her 30s who had contact with Songpa 60, her spouse, son, daughter, and relatives, were confirmed positive in COVID-19 tests and classified as Gwangju cases 177 to 183.
The Songpa 60 confirmed case was reported to have been confirmed positive on the 15th after contact with Bucheon case number 179.
According to epidemiological investigations, it was confirmed that from the 10th to the 12th, Songpa 60 met 15 relatives in Gwangju, and Gwangju City conducted comprehensive testing on them.
Gwangju case 177 is a woman in her 30s living in Geumho Daewoo Apartment, Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu. She had contact with Songpa 60 and reportedly showed symptoms since the 14th. She visited Boseong, Jeollanam-do, on the 12th.
Cases 178, 179, and 180 are the daughter, son, and husband of case 177, respectively.
Case 178 stayed at a study room within the Geumho Daewoo Apartment complex in Chipyeong-dong for about an hour from 6 PM on the 16th.
Case 179 visited the study room within the Geumho Daewoo Apartment complex in Chipyeong-dong from 5 PM to 6 PM on the 13th.
Case 180 stayed at a construction site in Sotae-dong, Dong-gu, from 7:10 AM to 11:50 AM on the 16th. It was also confirmed that he visited Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, from 8 AM to 5 PM on the 17th.
A couple in their 60s living in a house in Usan-dong, Buk-gu, was also confirmed positive for COVID-19 and classified as cases 181 and 182.
Case 181 stayed at Malbau Cheongsong Supermarket in Usan-dong, Buk-gu, from 9 AM to 3 PM on the 16th and from 8:50 AM to 5 PM on the 17th. On the 17th, from 7 PM for about two hours, he also visited a friend's house in Wolsan 2-dong, Nam-gu.
Case 182 stayed at Malbau Cheongsong Supermarket in Usan-dong, Buk-gu, from 7 AM to 11:40 AM and 3 PM to 9 PM on the 13th, 15th, and 16th. On the 14th, he was there from 7 AM to 9 PM, and on the 17th from 7 AM to 3 PM.
He also visited a friend's house in Wolsan 2-dong, Nam-gu, from 12 PM to 2 PM on the 13th, 15th, and 16th.
Case 183 is a woman in her 40s living in Two-in Apartment, Yongbong-dong, Buk-gu, and is a relative of Songpa 60.
She stayed at Hope Vocational Training Center in Ochi-dong, Buk-gu, from 9 AM to 5:20 PM between the 13th and 17th.
Health authorities are focusing on thorough epidemiological investigations to identify additional movement paths and contacts.
Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 152 people have been confirmed positive.
By infection route, there are 40 related to Gwangju Sarang Church, 32 to Geumyang Officetel, 28 to Ilgok Central Church, 14 to Gwangju Gosi Academy, 13 to Badminton Club, 8 to Gwangneuksa Temple, 9 from contact with other cities/provinces (Songpa 60), 5 imported cases, and 2 under investigation.
By age group, there are 5 under 10 years old, 6 in their teens, 5 in their 20s, 11 in their 30s, 20 in their 40s, 31 in their 50s, 43 in their 60s, 18 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
