[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 17th, Constitution Day, scattered showers accompanied by gusty winds are expected mainly in inland areas from noon to night.

On the morning of the day, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that many places in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon Yeongseo, inland Chungcheong, western inland Gyeonggi, and Jeolla would experience heavy showers exceeding 30 mm per hour. Rainfall intensity of over 30 mm per hour is enough to cause water overflow in fields or drainage systems. Some areas may also experience localized gusty winds, thunder and lightning, and hail, so caution is advised for the safety of facilities. The expected rainfall from the showers is between 5 and 70 mm.

Tomorrow (18th), as the stationary front located south of Jeju Island moves northward, rain will fall in the Jeju area from the afternoon. At night, rain will extend to the southern coasts of Jeollanam-do and Gyeongnam. A low-pressure system developed along the stationary front will move northward over the West Sea, causing rain that has been falling in the southern regions to expand nationwide by the morning of the day after tomorrow (19th). The Korea Meteorological Administration urged, "Some airports in the western regions may experience flight disruptions due to worsening weather conditions, so please check flight information in advance." The monsoon rain that started over the weekend is expected to continue until Tuesday, the 21st.

Even after the rain, temperatures will not drop significantly. The mornings and evenings will be cool, while the daytime will remain humid and sultry. The highest daytime temperature the day after tomorrow is expected to be between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius, which is 2 to 3 degrees lower than tomorrow, but the heat will not subside due to humidity. Tomorrow, daytime temperatures will rise above 30 degrees Celsius mainly in inland areas, making it hot.
