Representative Proposal of the Partial Amendment to the Jeollanam-do Basic Energy Ordinance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Council announced on the 16th that the "Jeollanam-do Energy Basic Ordinance Partial Amendment Ordinance," which was primarily proposed by Assemblyman Woo Seunghee, passed the review of the Economic Tourism and Culture Committee at the 344th extraordinary session on the 15th.
The amended ordinance includes a survey on the status of vulnerable groups and the acceptance of energy welfare, and adds energy welfare projects to the functions of the Energy Committee.
It also newly establishes provisions specifying energy welfare projects such as the distribution or improvement of energy facilities and energy bill discounts.
Assemblyman Woo Seunghee explained the reason for the amendment, saying, "Minimum energy support necessary for maintaining a humane life is needed for the 'energy vulnerable groups' who are struggling with energy consumption," and added, "Because this is a matter directly related to the quality of life and even survival of the residents, I hope that regional energy policies will be established and implemented so that energy is universally supplied to residents, including the impoverished."
Meanwhile, this ordinance is expected to be approved through the 2nd plenary session of the 344th extraordinary session of the Jeollanam-do Council on the 17th.
