[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 15th that it is steadily providing emergency living expenses to ensure the livelihood stability of COVID-19 confirmed patients and self-quarantined individuals.

Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, stated this during an online COVID-19 briefing in the afternoon, saying, "We have paid 429 million KRW in living expenses to 606 confirmed patients and self-quarantined individuals."

The support targets are citizens who are confirmed patients or those who have received self-quarantine notices from health centers and have not received paid leave expenses under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.

The support criteria are based on the number of household members registered in the resident registration, and payment is made once (for one month). Applications can be submitted at the local administrative office of the resident registration area after the quarantine release date (discharge date).

However, living expenses will not be paid to those who violate quarantine rules.

Mayor Lee said, "There were no additional confirmed cases today," and added, "This is thanks to the citizens who have thoroughly followed the quarantine rules despite difficult circumstances."
