Dong-Eui University, Industry-Academia Collaboration for AI Robot Control Development

Ajinextek Co., Ltd. and Device R&D Center Opening Ceremony
30 Million KRW Scholarship Awarded to Industry-Academic Scholarship Students

Dong-Eui University, Industry-Academia Collaboration for AI Robot Control Development On the 14th, Dong-Eui University signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with Ajinextek Co., Ltd. at Dong-Eui University to collaborate on the development of artificial intelligence robot control equipment and more.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The LINC+ Project Group and the Artificial Intelligence Robot Research Institute at Dong-Eui University signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Ajin X-Tech Co., Ltd. at Dong-Eui University on the 14th to collaborate on the development of AI robot equipment.


Through this agreement, the institutions plan to carry out projects including fostering outstanding talent in science and engineering fields, providing scholarships, supporting field training, and establishing and operating a Device R&D Center at Dong-Eui University.


Before the signing ceremony, Dong-Eui University President Gong Soon-jin and Ajin X-Tech CEO Woo Hyun-woo awarded scholarships totaling 30 million KRW to two industry-academia scholarship students: Kwon Hyuk-jun, majoring in Robotics and Automation Engineering, and Lee Ho-min, a master's student in the Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering.


The scholarship recipients, Kwon and Lee, will join Ajin X-Tech after graduation and work in the New Technology Planning Team, engaging in research and development tasks.


Following the agreement ceremony, the opening ceremony of the Device R&D Center was held on the 4th floor of the Dong-Eui University Information Engineering Building. The Device R&D Center will serve as an advanced base for developing AI-based intelligent innovative convergence technologies and training specialized personnel for the manufacturing and robotics industries, in collaboration with Ajin X-Tech and the Busan Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center.


Attendees at the event included Dong-Eui University President Gong Soon-jin, Vice President for External Affairs Lee Jong-geuk, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation Lee Im-geon, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Robot Research Institute Ok Seung-ho, professors Kim Won-ho, Kim Sun-ho, and Hwang Yi-cheol from the Robotics and Automation Engineering Department, Ajin X-Tech CEO Woo Hyun-woo, Executive Director Choi Seong-hyuk, Director Lee Geon-o, HR Team Deputy Manager Kwon Dong-cheol, and ten employees who graduated from Dong-Eui University.


Since its founding in 1995, Ajin X-Tech has entered the global market by domesticating controllers necessary for advanced industrial automation. It is the only company in Korea to have developed and sold motor control dedicated VLSI chips (CAMC series), establishing itself as a specialized component and material company in the mechatronics field. The company has domesticated controllers for various robot equipment required in semiconductor manufacturing processes, LED, LCD display processes, PCB/SMT processes, mobile, and automotive manufacturing processes.
