[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Won Hee-ryong, Governor of Jeju, has expanded his scope to the central political stage and started to solidify his position as a next presidential candidate. On the 15th, Won presented a ruling plan through the establishment of an 'anti-Moon (anti-Moon Jae-in) coalition' beyond camps and ideologies during a lecture for first-term lawmakers of the United Future Party.

On the same day, at the United Future Party first-term lawmakers' study meeting called 'Myeongbulheojeon Bosuda' held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, Won gave a lecture titled "I Have Never Lost to the Democratic Party: The Secret of 5-0 Victory," stating, "We must approach the presidential election with a broad political strategy that is not confined to the fences of conservative and progressive, but can join hands with anyone except the 'Jjinchinmoon' (true Moon supporters)."

Won said, "When Lee Hae-chan, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, steps down, the centripetal force and control will weaken. Many dissatisfactions will arise, and there will be people emerging during the party convention and primary process," adding, "We must join hands. The anti-Moon coalition, more specifically, the forces that manipulate the country under President Moon Jae-in are our competitors and targets to overcome." He continued, "The pro-Moon faction will also split into true pro-Moon and anti-pro-Moon groups. We also experienced this when we were in power," and criticized, "Perhaps the Park Geun-hye administration and the Moon Jae-in administration followed the same path because they governed easily within their own circles without fierce content competition and internal rivalry."

Won stated, "There is the industrialization generation, the democratization generation, and then the digital generation. Each has different historical experiences, communication styles, and political values. Shouldn't we secure at least 51% to govern?" He added, "We are trapped in generational and class encirclement. We must break through this and expand our boundaries. In terms of expanding our base, we must reach the metropolitan area, youth, centrists, and even progressives."

Won warned, "If we do not come to power in 2022, the party will disappear. The public will not tolerate a party that has failed five consecutive times," and said, "The moment our approval rating falls below 20%, we will face pressure to dissolve the party. We do not have much time left. We must work together."
