Airport Quarantine Certificate Check, About 6 out of 10 People
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 39 on the 15th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was 13,551, an increase of 39 from midnight the previous day.
The daily number of new confirmed cases fluctuated between 40 and 60 since the beginning of this month, dropped to the 30s on the 11th, rose again to the 60s on the 12th, and recorded the 30s for two consecutive days starting from the day before.
Among the 39 newly confirmed cases, 11 were locally transmitted and 28 were imported. Of the local cases, 6 were in Seoul and 3 in Gyeonggi Province, totaling 9 cases in the metropolitan area. Additionally, one case each was confirmed in Gwangju and Daejeon.
Among the 28 imported cases, 23 were detected during quarantine, accounting for nearly 60% of the total confirmed cases. The remaining cases were confirmed after entry in Gyeonggi and Daejeon (2 cases each) and Incheon (1 case).
Combining local infections and imported cases, the metropolitan area and Gwangju accounted for 12 and 1 cases respectively. New confirmed cases occurred in five cities and provinces nationwide, including the metropolitan area.
The number of patients who have been declared recovered and released from isolation increased by 66 to 12,348 compared to the previous day. The death toll remained unchanged at 289.
