Gyeongnam National University Wins 'Best Award' at Korea International Cooking & Baking Competition

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] The Department of Food Service Franchise at Gyeongnam National University announced on the 15th that it participated in the '2020 Korea International Cooking & Confectionery Competition' held at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, and won the highest award, the Chairman's Award of the Korea Food Promotion Institute, as well as the Gold Prize.


Hosted by the Korea Culinary Association, the Culinary Skills Promotion Association, and the Collective Catering Cooking Association, this competition boasts the largest scale among single cooking competitions in Korea, with a total of 615 teams and 2,150 participants nationwide.


On this day, the third-year students of the Department of Food Service Franchise at Gyeongnam National University?Jung Hae-seong, Kim So-young, Yoon Seol-hee, Yoon Hee-jung, and Lee Ji-yoon?who participated in the 'Course & Single Dish Live Competition' presented dishes such as 'Shrimp and Salmon Tart with Vinaigrette Sauce,' 'Chicken Thigh Steak with Potato Puree and Pea Puree accompanied by Blueberry & Bilberry Sauce,' and 'Dark Chocolate Banana Mousse with Almond Crumble and Fruits.' They were honored to receive both the highest award, the Chairman's Award of the Korea Food Promotion Institute, and the Gold Prize.


Additionally, five students from the Department of Food Service Franchise at Gyeongnam National University?third-year students Park Young-jin, Kim Yoon-hee, Yeon Jeong-min, Jung Seung-min, and first-year student Choi Byung-jun?who participated in the 'Food Service Franchise Cooking Live Competition' presented 'FOBU Tofu Steak,' 'FOBU Chicken Thigh Gratin,' and 'FOBU Nutritious Sole Fish Fry,' winning the Gold Prize.
