Okjeongho, Seongsusan, Pets, and Imsil Cheese: Successfully Managing Large-Scale Projects

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is accelerating the promotion of 10 core projects with all employees united in order to successfully lead the second half of the 7th local government administration.
On the 14th, the county announced that in line with the era of a 500 billion won budget in the second half of the 7th local government administration, it will firmly establish the foundation for the 'Era of Ten Million Tourists in Imsil' through the successful implementation of the Seomjingang Eco Museum project, along with the promotion of 7 major policy tasks and 10 core projects.
The 7 major policy tasks are ▲ Strengthening competitiveness of rural centers ▲ Establishing Okjeongho as a premium ecological tourism base ▲ Branding Imsil cheese food and tourism as premium products ▲ Developing Seongsusan forest recreation ▲ Increasing farm income and agricultural value ▲ Customized happiness welfare and revitalization of the local economy ▲ Expansion of living SOC.
As one of the 10 core projects, the county plans to build the Imsil-eup Happiness Nuri Center, which includes a residents' autonomy center and a national sports center, with a total project cost of 12 billion won funded by national and military budgets by 2022. The building will have one basement floor and three above-ground floors.
Additionally, over four years until 2023, a total of 14 billion won (with 8.4 billion won secured from the provincial budget) will be invested to promote the Jeonbuk-type urban regeneration New Deal project in the specialized Imsil Seongga district, including Ansim Alley, Cheese Village parking lot, Cheese Village walking trail, and museum.
Furthermore, projects to revitalize rural centers in Gangjin-myeon and Samgye-myeon, as well as basic living base development projects in Seongsu-myeon, Gwanchon-myeon, Sinpyeong-myeon, and Jisa-myeon, are underway.
In addition, to open the Seomjingang Renaissance in the 7th local government administration, plans are being established for the second phase of the Seomjingang Eco Museum, Okjeongho Water Culture Trail, and eco-friendly dam utilization plans to create the Okjeongho ecological tourism site.
The Imsil Cheese premium tourism development project will promote the creation of a four-season rose garden within the Imsil Cheese Theme Park and tourism infrastructure within the Imsil Cheese Farm Land, befitting the reputation of the Imsil N Cheese Festival.
Along with this, by next year, the county plans to establish the Imsil Cheese Rural Theme Park, build the Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center, and develop a second representative tourist site to strengthen the domestic and international reputation of Imsil N Cheese.
Seongsusan, where the royal legends of King Wang Geon of Goryeo and King Yi Seong-gye of Joseon are embedded, is being developed into the King's Forest Ecotourism Site, including the Taejo Hope Forest, natural recreation forest, and national leisure camping site.
Regarding the development of the companion animal industry hub, the construction of the Osu public animal burial facility will be completed this year, and plans to steadily promote the companion animal support center and the second agricultural industrial complex are in place.
In addition, large-scale maintenance projects such as the Rural New Vitality Plus project, comprehensive maintenance of the Pungsuhaeng living area, and the construction of aging water supply networks will be successfully completed through securing national funds.
County Governor Shim Min said, “By laying the foundation for the 500 billion won budget era of the 7th local government administration and securing national funds for major large-scale projects, we will achieve tangible results that residents can feel.” He added, “All employees will work with one heart to successfully accomplish the various projects of the 7th local government administration.”
