[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of Education announced on the 15th that it will hold the '1st Regional Forum and Yeongnam Area Superintendents Meeting' for the post-COVID-19 educational transformation. The forums and meetings will be held in a total of four regions, directly visiting local areas to hear opinions from the field.
The direction of future education in the post-COVID-19 era includes ensuring continuity of learning and growth under any circumstances and guaranteeing universal education so that no student is marginalized or left behind.
The first forum will be held at Busan International Foreign Language High School, a leading school in the transition to general high schools and the high school credit system. During the online class period caused by COVID-19, they plan to showcase well-organized remote classes and recorded videos for absent students. Based on this experience, they plan to create hybrid online-offline learning spaces in the second semester and prepare video classes with overseas sister schools.
Following this, the Yeongnam Area Superintendents Meeting will be held at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, attended by Superintendent Park Jong-hoon of Gyeongnam, Superintendent Kim Seok-jun of Busan, Superintendent Kang Eun-hee of Daegu, Superintendent Noh Ok-hee of Ulsan, and Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of Gyeongbuk. They will share regional measures and cases to address educational disparities and focus discussions on related topics.
