[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] #1. Ms. Lee, a working mom in her 30s, recently decided to purchase a toy storage cabinet she had wanted for a long time as the spread of COVID-19 naturally increased the time spent at home. She received a recommendation from acquaintances for the 'Hanssem Saem Kids Storage Cabinet' and placed an order, and was able to receive delivery and installation at home the very next day.

#2. Mr. Shin, a worker in his 40s, is planning to move to a new apartment in two weeks and is ordering furniture from an online shopping mall. However, most of the delivery items are shipped via courier, so the delivery date cannot be specified. He felt awkward taking time off work to match the furniture delivery schedule, but he heard that Hanssem's 'Naemam Delivery' service allows customers to request delivery on their preferred date. Mr. Shin requested furniture delivery in the afternoon, the time he would be organizing his moving belongings.

Furniture can now be delivered the next day as well. Hanssem recently announced that, with the expansion of untact (non-face-to-face) consumption due to COVID-19 and the growth of the online market, it will fully expand the 'next-day delivery' system that had been implemented since the first half of last year.

Hanssem, a comprehensive home interior specialist company, is launching the 'Naemam Delivery' service on its online Hanssem Mall, allowing customers to freely select furniture delivery and installation dates from a minimum of 1 day to a maximum of 30 days.

Next-day and same-day delivery services have become common recently, especially on social commerce platforms, but furniture products that require installation by professional technicians often take more than 1 to 2 weeks to receive due to the need to coordinate installation schedules. Also, customers may not receive furniture on their moving date, causing inconvenience for dual-income households who may have to suddenly change their annual leave or adjust their vacation.

Hanssem was the first in the industry to introduce a next-day delivery service in February last year, limited to some products on its online mall, Hanssem Mall, allowing customers to receive furniture the day after ordering. With the system for next-day delivery in place, from July 2020, Hanssem expanded the lineup of products eligible for next-day delivery and extended the service to 'Naemam Delivery,' which allows customers to specify delivery and installation dates for Hanssem furniture from 1 to 30 days. This new service offers delivery and installation together online, tailored to the characteristics of a home interior company, and allows date specification.

First, the models eligible for next-day delivery and installation were expanded from the existing 'Saem Bookshelf' and 'Saem Kids Storage Cabinet' to include 'Momoro Baby Cabinet' and 'Bona Baby Cabinet,' totaling four types. Including various sizes, colors of furniture, and storage accessories, the number of products increased from about 30 to 700.

The delivery period for wardrobes and dress rooms, which previously took an average of over 7 days, has been shortened to a minimum of 2 days. After ordering a product, a simple phone consultation about the installation space and product size is conducted, and installation can be done as early as the next day. The existing service allowing delivery date specification up to 30 days has been refined to allow selection of morning or afternoon, improving inconvenience for customers who had to take a full day off or could not go out on the furniture installation day. Another advantage is that customers can pre-select furniture delivery dates according to their moving plans.

Hanssem's ability to provide such delivery and installation systems is due to its nationwide logistics centers and its specialized installation company 'Service One,' which have long-established know-how and competitiveness in furniture logistics, delivery, and installation.

To provide smooth delivery services to customers, Hanssem has expanded its dedicated next-day arrival installation team to more than three times the previous number and plans to gradually expand the Naemam Delivery service, currently available throughout Seoul, Gyeonggi, and parts of Incheon, nationwide. Additionally, from the end of July, Hanssem plans to open an online-exclusive logistics center for joint delivery of its own products and those of vendors listed on Hanssem Mall.

To celebrate the launch of the Naemam Delivery service, Hanssem is holding an initial consonant quiz event on Hanssem Mall until the 20th, where 200 people will be selected by lottery to receive coffee coupons.

A Hanssem representative said, "Since furniture requires installation as well as delivery due to the nature of the products, the Naemam Delivery service is only possible by combining Hanssem's nationwide logistics and installation networks," adding, "We hope the Naemam Delivery service on Hanssem Mall will become a new trend in furniture purchasing in the untact era."
