Starting from the 17th, the 'Selected Representative System' providing free legal review and appeal procedures will be implemented... Eligible individuals must submit objection forms and representative selection applications to the district tax office
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) will implement the 'Selected Agent System' from July 17, which provides free legal review, consultation, and assistance with evidence document supplementation for appeals related to local taxes.
The district partially amended the 'Geumcheon-gu Local Tax Basic Ordinance' and established the operational basis for the 'Selected Agent' system, composed of lawyers, certified public accountants, and tax accountants.
The support target for the local tax 'Selected Agent' system includes individual taxpayers with appeal claims of 10 million KRW or less, taxpayers whose total income including their spouse is 50 million KRW or less, or those with property ownership valued at 500 million KRW or less.
To apply, taxpayers submit an objection application and a selected agent application to the district tax department. After reviewing the taxpayer's income and property qualifications, an agent is designated within 7 days from the date of receipt.
Yuseong Hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "This will help residents who had objections to local tax imposition but hesitated due to the complicated process or concerns about the cost of appointing an agent. We hope that small taxpayers and small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation will benefit even a little from the Selected Agent System."
