Rivera had gone missing earlier on the 8th while boating with her 4-year-old son at Lake Piru in California.
It was investigated that Rivera rented a boat and went out onto the lake around 1 p.m. that day. About three hours later, Rivera's son was found asleep alone on the boat. Another boat passing nearby discovered and reported this.
The child reportedly told the police, "Mom was swimming but did not return to the boat," and "I saw mom disappear under the water."
On the 9th, the police found an adult life jacket inside the boat and shifted the focus to the possibility of drowning, switching to a search for the body. The police conducted search operations using helicopters, drones, and divers.
Meanwhile, Rivera, who started as a child actress, debuted in 1991 with CBS's "The Royal Family." She later appeared in dramas such as "Smart Guy," "Devious Maids," and the movie "The Devil's Door." She gained great popularity playing the role of Santana Lopez in the famous drama "Glee."
